Eleven holes not producing a skin were tied in 3 points, sometimes there were numerous 3 pointers and occasionally just two. One hole, the 12th, was tied in 4 points from both Lee Eden and Steve Cross.

Ladies Weekend Away
After a wet and windy start the weather improved for weekend with some impressive scoring.
Spring S’ford Rd 2 / Spring Meeting BB
Seven pairs of ladies took part in today’s 4 ball better ball. Despite a muddy start, the weather held up with a few glimpses of sunshine and did not deter the winning pair of Julie Smith and Gina Jillett who scored a whopping 43 stableford points. There was only a one point difference between the 2nd and 3rd place at 39 stableford and 38 stableford respectively.
Thank you to everyone who made it a very special day – Jayne for purchasing the prizes and Julie for the cake.
Round saw sum excellent scoring on Prince’s with the course lacking defences. However, this does not detract from magnificent Stewart McDonald’s winning score of 45 points – 3 clear of John Pieters, Nick Rogers and Davide Oddono.
Nick’s 42 was good enough to win the overall 36 hole event by a margin of 7 from Toby Hunt.
CSS was reduced by 1 from SSS to 64. Men’s handicap list…
Spring S’ford Rd 1 / Spring Meeting Medal
A glorious day greeted 10 Ladies competing in the Spring Meeting Medal round. The course was dry although putting was challenging with fork marks and some sand on the greens. Sonia Inniss won with a net 73 and by 3 shots from Maureen Slade. Other prize winners were Jayne Maxwell for the best back 9 and Alison Chadwick for the best front 9.
A pleasant but at time windy spring day saw moderate scoring and for some time Captain Gurpal Sekhon as early clubhouse leader seemed the inevitable winner. There was speculation of a ‘reduction only’ round.
However, a solid 38 from Nick Rogers won the day and there were a couple more 36s from Steve Cross and Greg Albertyn.
At last a sunny day in time for this year’s first monthly medal. The winner was Veronica Mitchell with a net 78 and a better back nine than Maureen Slade also with a net 78.
A pleasant early Spring day saw some truly incredible scoring from Nick Rogers and Mike Smeal fro their 61s. Nick was out in 1 over par and Mike had a very tidy 38 in and out keeping a six off his card. Winner on the back 9 was Mike. Toby Hunt again illustrated his consistency coming 3rd with 65.
CSS was elevated to one over SSS at 66.
