Winter Com Rd 5 / Dukes Eclectic Rd 3
The snow & rain of the previous week lead to a non-qualifier with half of the holes having temporaries of interesting quality which served some of the ladies better than others. The results reflected the difficult conditions with Lia Donath’s 28 being the top score. In close second slot was Cheryl Woodhouse on 27.
After three rounds of the Eclectic the leader board is fairly tightly packed with 5 ladies within three shots of each other. Rather surprisingly there were a number of improvements today. Veronica Mitchell and Sheena Harrington share the lead on net 78.
Report due soon.
Paul Grand snapped the attached photos about 13:25 today revealing a desolate wintry situation with the shop and course looking closed. With more snow forecast for tomorrow morning, playing conditions will suit the hardiest of perennials.
Winter Com Rd 3 / Dukes Eclectic Rd 2
With Duke’s showing the effects of the flooding, conditions underfoot were very muddy, leading to the inevitable low scoring from the ladies. As a results it was a reduction only round, so no changes to handicap are recorded for the 9 ladies who played.
Veronica Mitchell led the way with a score of 30, followed in second place by Cheryl Woodhouse on 28 points.
In the associated Eclectic, Veronica Mitchell leads after two rounds with a net 79 followed by Sheena Harrington on 80.
Considering the amount of rain in previous weeks, conditions were fair but muddy in places. CSS remained at SSS 38 points with 2 beating this – Cuneyt the winner with 42 and Paul Grand with 39.
Richard Owen leads the associated Winter Competition by three points from Danny Deprez.
In the Duke’s Eclectic, Paul Patching is our leader on 61, two ahead of Nick Rogers.
Monthly Medal / Team Event
The first ladies competition of 2013 was a team competition. 10 ladies in 5 teams of two played a game of two nines (best score on the front 9, both scores on the back nine). Conditions were very very muddy, lets hope they will improve!
The winners were Jayne and Susan with 54 points. Hot on their heels were Maureen and Gina with 53 points.
Three players returned net 60’s, with Jim Fogarty winning on count back over Nigel Gaymond and Thomas Chase.
