Local Rule Change

It was just after the end of the first lockdown period that we were confronted with the general UK-wide ‘no touch’ rule and on 29th May 2020 we announced that with numerous instances of balls bouncing off the flagsticks we allowed common sense to prevail for scoring purposes.  In 2020 it was the use of inverted putting cups that created the problem of holing out.  In 2021 the putting cups have been correctly inserted and foam inserts have been used to assist ball retrieval whilst the ‘no touch’ rule still prevails.

In view of the changed circumstances, at this evening’s committee meeting it was agreed to withdraw the discretion facility immediately and in all instances balls must now be holed out in accordance with the Rules of Golf.
