As usual for this competition, entries are made individually and
partners are selected by random draw. The draw is held on the Sunday
before the competition.
The format of the event is foursomes Stableford. The handicap allowance
is 7/16th the combined handicaps. No
handicap adjustment is made for any stroke allowances that may otherwise
be relevant for mixed competitions.
There are prizes for the handicap winners (Honours
Board) and handicap runners-up. The prizes are awarded at the Annual
Dinner Dance.
Players should arrive by 12:30 for a 1 pm tee off on the Duke's Course.
Repair to the BHGA afterwards.

Match Report
The sunny weather had brought all the happy hackers out, so after a
pretty tortuous 5.5 hour round Dave & Jan were proven the eventual
winners - see right.
We used the new CONGU recommended handicapping allowance, which prior to
play concerned our Captain & Treasurer that the scores would be very
high. As you can see the result did not reflect their concern ( & the
rest of us had scores mainly in the low twenties). The new calculation
is 1/2 (man's handicap + lady's handicap + diff in standard scratch
between ladies & men) rather than 7/16th of combined handicap.
It was rather a poor turn out with only 4 games, but hopefully with the
arrival of the portacabin we will be able to resurrect some club spirit
and enthusiasm for the mixed events. And to encourage this we are
intending to move the start time to the morning with the hope that we'll
get out before the worst of the hackers!!
