The Whitewebbs is a national knockout competition run by the NAPGC. The format is singles match play. The earlier rounds are regional.

The Club has entered two teams again this year. The Lady Captain captains the A team and a member of the committee (Cheryl Woodhouse this year) captains the B team. They agree who to put into which team at the start of the competition.

Team A Match Report

Richmond Park A beat Maple Durham 4-1 at home on 6th June. See the box right for details.

All our ladies except for Maureen had to give shots, and quite a few in some cases, so it was an excellent victory with Maureen being the only loser and that was close.

Richmond Park A lost to Hounslow Heath away on 26 June. See the box right for details.

Hounslow Heath was one of only two clubs who had a first round match this year. Obviously the vagaries of their course are too much for each of their opponents so far - with fierce rough and very hard ground that gives strange bounces (or so the team explained!).

Team B Match Report

Richmond Park B lost their third round match to Queen's Park by 4 1/2 to 1/2. See the box right for details.

It was always going to be a tough match as holding your handicap at Queen's Park would probably give you a 2 shot advantage over most other clubs and they looked a very seriously competitive team.
